Established in 2008, the Black Caddis Ranch is located in a beautiful valley, amid 500,000 acres of remote wilderness, in the Allegheny National Forest. A spring fed brook runs through the property, with access to the Tionesta Creek, a historic public waterway. The Tionesta winds through breathtaking mountain scenery, with soaring cliffs and very mild rapids. We came for the trout fishing and the forest, but discovered kayaking, snowmobiling and now, it's all about the FIREFLIES!!!
"LODGING ON THE TRAIL"
The Black Caddis Ranch offers two comfort level experiences, a home-style or a close-to-nature option:
The home-style Firefly B&B has 5 unique bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms and one half-bath. Breakfast is served daily and guests have access to the kitchen for preparing their other meals. The Firefly B&B is available year-round (weekends only September through May).
For a more adventurous close-to-nature option, the Camp Fossil Creek Cabins have 3 rustic, close-to-nature, choices. The cabins have electric, but no heat or indoor plumbing. The cabins are available April through October. Cabin campers must supply their own bedding. There is a camper shower at the main house.
