Spring has Sprung!

Spring has arrived in Kellettville, but the last few days have felt more like summer.  Everything is in bloom except for the Rhododendrons and Mountain Laurel, but they will be opening by Memorial Day. The front porch is surrounded by Rhodies, and the butterflies and hummingbirds love them.  The recent rains have filled the creeks, so the canoeing and kayaking are excellent.  The fishing has been good up until this week, so hopefully, we will start to dry up a little.

We are starting to book up for the Firefly season again in June.  This year's 2nd Annual PA Firefly Festival is Saturday, June 28 here at the BCR.  We still have cabins available, and there will be limited tent and pop-up sites available.  The festival starts at 12-noon to midnight. There will be 7 different music groups, arts and crafts, exhibits and food vendors.  Don't worry if you can't make that weekend, because the Synchronous fireflies are here for 10-14 days between the second week of June until the first week of July, depending on the weather.

We had a long cold winter, so we are looking forward to the summer with lots of kayaking, biking and hiking and of course Firefly hunting in the ANF.  So, come visit us and we'll make you feel right at home.
